Misty March

Associate Principal

Misty grew up surrounded by plants, so much so that she didn’t give them much thought. She was always interested in art and design, but a summer job at the US National Arboretum where her father was the Chief Horticulturalist opened her eyes to the wonderful world of plants. She completed internships at Dumbarton Oaks and Longwood Gardens, then attended Harvard Graduate School of Design. Misty joined Reed Hilderbrand in 1999 and worked on early keystone projects, including The Clark Art Institiute and Taft Musuem of Art, before departing to found the New York City office of Hargreaves Jones. She managed many of that practice’s highly recognized projects across the United States, including Penn’s Landing Park in Philadelphia and the Logan Center at the University of Chicago. In the spring of 2024 Misty returned to Reed Hilderbrand’s senior leadership, working alongside partner Beka Sturges to direct our New Haven office. She is currently responsible for the Williams College Museum of Art, San Antonio Botanical Garden, and Great Island.

Misty lives between the Catskills and Brooklyn, where she and her husband raised their two sons. She loves spending time in beautiful gardens, taking in the diversity of color and texture and creatures of all sorts, seeing it all hum together as one harmonious creation.
