Fashioned on the progressive American model of the agricultural estate, this site outside of New York City represents a vast and sustained commitment to the productive rewards obtained from a commitment to organic agriculture and land stewardship.

The master plan for this 56-acre property has guided phased development of an estate dedicated to the pursuit of horticultural and culinary excellence. The design expresses three topographic features that define the site’s rural character: terraced fields, a high ridge crowned with four knolls, and the broad eastern side of the ridge. The central knoll is preserved as the organizing feature for the house, gardens, pool, and tennis court. Paths lead out to the forests, fields, and wetlands of the property.
