Haoyang Li

Senior Designer

A research-oriented designer, Haoyang is personally fascinated by innovative technologies as well as enduring cultural traditions. He grew up in Wuxi, a historic town near Shanghai in China’s Yangtze River Delta and was interested from an early age in the poetic expression of nature and humanity in classical garden spaces. He learned about landscape architecture while studying urban planning and environmental resource management at Huaqiao University. At University of Texas at Austin, he earned his MLA and received the Award of Excellence and Merit Award from ASLA Texas Chapter Student Awards. He worked at Terrain Studio in San Francisco, AECOM Shanghai, and RELM Studio in Los Angeles before joining Reed Hilderbrand in 2018. Since then, he has contributed to a number of residential and institutional projects. Haoyang loves to cook Chinese cuisine—especially Cantonese-style seafood—and would one day like to see the glaciers in Alaska.
