Sophie Allen

Sophie grew up in Ripton, Vermont, helping with her parents’ organic tomato farm and competitively horseback riding and skiing. At St. Lawrence University, Sophie earned a double degree in Art History and French while also competing as an NCAA Division I Nordic collegiate ski racer. Sophie’s prior professional experience includes managing marketing and communications for HKD Snowmakers, one of North America’s original snowmaking technology companies. She joined Reed Hilderbrand in 2020, when her interest in her parents’ farm prompted her to learn more about landscape architecture. She supports Reed Hilderbrand’s principals and senior leadership in the pursuit of new business opportunities and oversees a variety of communications campaigns, including video and photography projects and the practice’s presence on social media. Outside of work, she continues to compete in long distance Nordic ski events and loves to shape indoor spaces for herself and friends.
